Nanny McAlston

Ok so I've been horrible on here lately, but I've been really busy I swear! I figured I better tell you all what I'm up to so that I can answer all of your questions at once! I have just accepted a position as a nanny in Connecticut. Ok what to say about it... I'm going to nanny for a family in Norwalk, CT. It's a single mother, the father died last year of cancer. 3 kids, 8 year old Female, 6 year old Male, 4 year old Female. The mom works T/W/Th, I work Monday through Saturday Morning, I have evenings, most of Saturday, and all of Sunday off. I'll be a live-in so I'll have my own room and share a bathroom with the kids. I met the family at the beginning of December, I flew to CT on a Friday morning and came back on a Sunday night. It was scary at first but it went really well and I really liked them, cute kids, not spoiled at all... Umm.... What else do you want to know?! One cool thing is that they're an hour away from New York City so I can go there whenever I want, plus they're pretty close to the Ocean so I just need to get friends who have toys (aka boats, jet skis, etc). It should be a really good experience, I feel good about it and so does my family. I'm definitely in for an adventure!Oh yeah, I'll be starting at the end of the month, my family is going to New York City for Christmas so I just decided that I wouldn't fly home with them I would just go up there since it was an hour away and I would be going a few days later anyways...so that's when I start...

Amen to this...

NEW PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION The following has been attributed to State Representative Mitchell Kaye from GA.

"We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional, and other liberal bed-wetters. We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim they require a Bill of NON-Rights."
ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.
ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc.; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.
ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful; do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.
ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes .
ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.
ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.
ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.
ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful. (AMEN!)
ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the 20 Bill of Rights.
ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from! (Lastly....)
ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at al l; with no fear of persecution The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!

Right now I'm playing with my sister-in-law and I've already played it twice today! We're taking a little break because her baby is crying...but then I'm going to beat her, because she already beat me today and so did my mom... goodness gracious...So if anyone wants to play, call me! haha jk!

Christmas music!?!?

So at work we listen to 99.9 everyday just because it's a good mix of what all the patients like, well today I got to work and it's already Christmas music! I don't know how I feel about that! Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas music and I love everything about Christmas...but sometimes it plays for soooo long that by the time it's close to Christmas you're sooooo sick of the songs playing over and over again! But today I am happy about it, it makes me excited for the holidays and ready for a time that is so centered on families! Christmas makes me happy!

Two Hot Chicas!

So as you can see by this picture, Katie and I are two very serious people...

JUST KIDDING!!!

Anyone want a kiss?

Katie says this is an emo picture...so I guess we're emo...

Actually we're two very normal (well fairly normal) girls!

The Joys...

The Joys of not being able to eat normal things! Last night my mom made chicken noodle soup for the whole family...then she made a seperate soup for me! Basically mine had chicken broth, chicken, celery, and onions... and most of it was only broth...this is because I can't have the noodles because I'm staying off of wheat right now...only for 3 more weeks! Here's me drinking my leftovers today because it was sooo much broth...

Rebecca's Update!

Here's an update of some of my cute neices and nephews for my sister Rebecca who lives in Idaho! Tonight they're all over here at my parents house and somehow a lot of the responsibility falls on Aunt Jaimie...hmmm...thanks...
Here's Grace, she's 10 1/2 months old and she crawls all over the house! Nothing is safe with her around, she finds everything on our ground! We no longer need to sweep or vacumm!
Here's Grace picking up Rachael's flip-flop...and then she stuck it in her mouth...gross...
Here's Rachael with her cute smile! She is getting sooo big!

Grandpa asked Emma to take some scrap food out to our duck and she was glad to do it! Emma is such a good help!

There's the lucky ducky!

Here's John-John, he'll be 4 on Thursday! This was him coming up to ask me where I had gotten a stamp I had on my hand, he wanted one too...

Here's Grace, she tried to escape a diaper change!

She got away...
But not for long! Daddy got her!

"Hey Look! A toy! I'm going to put this in my mouth!"

Here's Jonathan doing what he does best!

Here's Rachael doing what she does best...jk!

Haha, this was funny because Christopher kept ramming Emma with the little thing he was on because he wanted to get on the bike! Someday they'll master the concept of sharing...hard I know!

Garage Sale...woot woot...

Well it's 5:45am on a Saturday morning...what am I doing awake?! This morning my family is having a garage sale...my mom has been preparing for it all week, I haven't helped enough because I had work and school all week... but we have a whole bunch of junk we're selling! Well I guess I'm the first one awake, I thought my parents were going to be awake by now...I'll wake them up in 15 minutes I guess... What to do for 15 minutes while I wait for stuff to happen...? I can't do anything on my own, because one it's still dark outside, two I don't know where my mom wants it so I would probably be wasting my time and three most of the stuff I would need two people to move...so sadly I'm stuck here surfing the computer when I'd MUCH rather be sleeping!

If this picture had a computer instead of books...this would totally be me...but a girl...

Ahh... Memories...

Last night I went to an alumni party for the Mesa High Varsity Volleyball team. The two coaches who had coached the team for literally millions of years retired at the end of last year and are no longer coaching. So another coach had put together a party after tonight's volleyball game and asked the alumni to come. It was fun to see some of my old friends and to see all the different woman who I were connected to me through one simple thing like volleyball! Here are some pictures to bring back memories of Varsity Volleyball!
Here's us after we won the Pima tournament! (I don't know why we have the random boys in the picture, I think they were our cheerleaders or something)
Here's how we always stood when they sang the national anthem

Here's me serving at our very last game! I was getting some really hard serves in that day!

3 weeks to go...

Well today I went to see the doctor again and I only lost 2.5 lbs... which makes it so I've lost about 15 lbs in 3 weeks...but I don't like how low it was this week so I'm going to work harder! If you're confused by this post look at two weeks ago and there's a post that explains what I'm doing.

More State Fair Pictures!

Here are a few more pictures from the state fair that my sister-in-law took:

This is the same camel from a picture before, it's just funny to see the little kids looking at it! Grace doesn't look like she wants it that close to her and John John can't seem to stop looking at it, since he didn't turn around for the picture!

Here's one of those huge slide you slide down at the state fair, it was so fun!
From left to right: Emma's friend Annie, Emma, Me and John-John, Emma's friend, Katie, my sister-in-law Jamie

Emma and John enjoying the swings!

Jamie Kay, Emma, John John, and Johnny
Me, Katie, my parents, and Grace walked below them

Here's Gracie as she watched Emma and John on a ride...isn't she soooo cute?!

Looks like an exciting ride!

Arizona State Fair

Well for Halloween my parents, my oldest brother his wife and three kids, my little sister, and I went to the Arizona State Fair. I guess it's cheaper to go on Halloween because less people go, because everyone's out partying and trick or treating. Well it was sooo much fun! I haven't gone in years and it was so nice to not have long lines! Basically if you wanted to ride anything if you had to wait at all it was just to wait for the last group to end! Here are some fun pictures from the fair, I only had my cell phone so it was hard to get some pictures!

Me and Katie, Katie is a scary looking farmer's wife...

Katie milking a fake cow

Me milking the same fake cow

I wish I would have had the money to buy this because it is true way too often!

Now really, where would I find pants if my legs were this long?!

We went to the petting zoo and they had some crazy stuff! Here's Katie petting a camel, she's laughing so hard because it was getting dangerously close to her face and she was backing up! I think it wanted to give her a big sloppy kiss!

Ok so this is the biggest pig I've ever seen!

The scary Ostrich

A HUGE CAMEL!

You can barely see it but here's a zebra!

A Kangaroo!

Something really ugly! Can you see how this thing is shaved? It almost looks like a poodle! It's whole body is shaved except for it's head, rump, and legs!

It's a llama!

A Giraffe!
