Swimming!

The family I nanny for has a pool in their backyard and until now I haven't been brave enough to go swimming with the kids in it! My friend Sydney and the boy she nannies for Robby were over and Sydney started skimming the top of the pool cleaning it out, then I hooked up the vacumn for her to start vacumning the bottom of it because she was having way too much fun cleaning a pool. Well since it was getting clean and there would be another adult besides me we decided it would be fun to actually swim! The kids were VERY excited to say the least! So since it was such a hot day it felt sooooo good to swim, here are some of our LOVELY pictures!
Caroline ready to jump in!

The boys floating around on a raft

Wow Sydney, why is your life sooooo hard? Being a nanny must be rough!

Christina is fearless when it comes to jumping into the pool...which naturally means that her nanny is fearful when it comes to her jumping in. But actually she does a great job and she just jumps in over and over again, SHE LOVES IT! Here's an awesome picture of her jumping in!

Here I am! Gotta love it!

Me, Connor, and Caroline playing around!

Connor, Robby, and Christina decided they would all jump in at the same time, well they tried it a few times and Connor wouldn't jump in with them at all! Infact the only way I could get him to jump in was for him to hold on to me the whole time, see the next picture...

Well after a while the younger ones got tired, so while Robby, Caroline, and I were still swimming these guys wrapped themselves in towels and rested up for a little while! Don't they look tired?!

So a week and a half ago me and a few of my friends jumped in the pool and swam for a little bit, well I guess one of my friend had lost an earring and hadn't told me...well I found it...I'm glad I was the one who had to step on it because it hurt!

Cinderella!

This weekend the family I work for went out of town to visit their Grandmother. While they've been gone I figured I'd use my uninterrupted time to clean and organize their house...awful huh? I finally get peace and quiet and I use it cleaning out cupboards? There must seriously be something wrong with me! Or I've learned from the example of my mother how cleanliness and organization makes everything look and feel so much nicer! So I've cleaned out cupboards, refrigerators, drawers, garage, cars, rooms, and I'm soooo tired! Yesterday my friend and I cleaned the kitchen for like 8 hours, of course she had this obsession with trying to get the counters as white as she could and she spent HOURS on them and they only look slightly better! Let's see I still need to finish the family room, the cars, the garage, the weeding, go to the laundromat, and then I think I'll be happy...All of this before I go pick them up at the airport tomorrow night at 7:30... Now don't think my employer is making me do all of this, this is just some sort of obsession I have right now with helping her have less stress in her life and I guess I think a cleaned out fridge can do that!

Here's Lauren using an old toothbrush to clean the counters...now if you asked her she will probably start crying and tell you some sob story about how I made her scrub with a toothbrush while I sat on the couch watching a movie...the truth is that she was OBSESSED with these counters, I really didn't understand it. She spent hours using every different kind of cleaner we have to see what would make the counter the whitest! So while she scrubbed I cleaned out drawers, the fridge, and some cupboards...

Here are some of our clean, organized cupboards!

Anyone whose ever been here will be amazed at this picture, have you ever seen this counter so clean? I think not! And now it's even prettier because Lauren cleaned it SOOOOO well!

Playtime!

Today I dropped Caroline off at a ward members house for Activity Day and then Connor and Christina and I went to the mall! Here's us having fun at the children's play area!

What a little ham! I don't know where this smile came from, but I love it!

Anyone that knows Christina knows that she's a picky eater but she LOVES crackers! So this picture of her hugging a huge cracker is very true of what she really would do if it were real!

Connor eating a giant Watermelon!

Christina sitting in a giant flower

After playing, we went and waited for Caroline's Activity day to be over, while we waited we called Mommy! Here they are talking to their mommy on my cell phone, they're so cute on the phone!

Father's Day!

Over here in Connecticut I tried to make Father's Day a fun day for the kids. Last night we bought a big singing card for their daddy and a bouquet of white flowers for their mommy. Then I had already bought a picture frame that holds 8 pictures and had found pictures of the kids and their dad, one of Roz (the mom I work for) and Paul (the dad), and one of the family. Then there's a quote that says, "Anyone can be a Father, but it takes someone special to be a Daddy." So last night we figured out how we were going to have it all set up on the table for their mommy to see, signed the card for their daddy, and drew pictures for him. Here's a picture of what it looks like!

Then this morning because all of that stuff was a surprise for their mommy they wanted to have a surprise for me too, so Caroline (9 year old) made us pancakes and scrambled eggs, yummy! She also swept and mopped the floor for me, too bad I had just mopped yesterday, but now I'm sure it looks even better!

It was fun to see how much Rosalind loved the frame and flowers. I'm so glad I did this for her!

UP!

Well the fam and I went and saw the new movie "Up" in 3D at the movie theater and it was really good! Here are some pictures of us in our cool 3D glasses, I know your jealous of how AWESOME we look!

For those of you who don't know what "Up" is (aka Becca) here's the movie synopsis:

Carl Fredricksen spent his entire life dreaming of exploring the globe and experiencing life to its fullest. But at age 78, life seems to have passed him by, until a twist of fate (and a persistent 8-year old Junior Wilderness Explorer named Russell) gives him a new lease on life.

Stepping Forward

Today was Christina's Stepping Forward Ceremony for her afternoon preschool. It's because she's moving from preschool to kindergarden. Yay! Here are the fun pictures from the day!
Here she is waving at the camera as she walked in!

Look at that cute little smile!

Me and the girls!

Rosalind and Christina

After the ceremony they had some games that the kids were supposed to play against their parents. This one was the egg on a spoon race, well they glued easter eggs to cooking spoons for the kids and the parents didn't have real eggs but they weren't glued either, here's Christina running during that race!

Another race was were you had to have a balloon inbetween your legs as you walked, Caroline was a pro, Christina not so much because as you can see her mommy had to help her!

Sharing the love!

This is what happens when you let someone crazy (aka Caroline) hold the camera for a little bit!

Haha, so they have a tug of war, parents agains preschoolers, and Caroline was complaining that the parents always let the kids win, so she was determined to pull as hard as she could against them! Haha, here we are trying to beat the little kids! Caroline's totally laughing in this picture because I just started pulling on her because she was sooooo serious about beating them so I started to pretend like I was going to beat them too!!!

PIE!!!

Roz and the kids came home on Sunday with a bunch of strawberries they had picked, so we decided I should make one of my favorite Strawberry Pies. I was soooo excited, but so scared because I had never made it I'd only seen my mom do it! Well it turned out great and was SO yummy!!!

Here's a picture of my little helper Christina!

And here it is! I know it just looks like a mound of strawberries, but it really is delicious!!!

Sad day!

So a few days ago Christina (5 year old) looked at me and said my hair looked like a moose. So I stared quizzically at her and asked if it was a good thing or a bad thing, she quickly responded saying a bad thing. "Oh," I said, "Ok..." Then she started making a weird sound, the sound she thought moose made... wow... thanks Christina

Penguins...blah!

Ok for anyone who really knows me you should be wondering why I'm making this post! Because really until like a month ago I really couldn't have told you who the Red Wings are or even what sport they played! Well now I can say they're from Detriot and they play HOCKEY!!! Well Roz is from Michigan so the Red Wings are her team and they've been in the Stanley Cup Finals and it's been exciting! So I've been watching some of the games with Roz and I really get a kick out of how into the game she gets and how much she yells at the tv (they can't hear you Roz!), it's especially funny when you're not in the room and you can just hear her yelling or cheering, Sydney knows this too!
Well last night was game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals and I had to babysit at someone's else's house, how horrible is this, without Roz there I watched the entire game! Really it was only so that I could kind of know what was going on at our house, know what kind of mood Roz was going to be in the next day(jk)! I swear I could hear her yelling all the way to where I was(jk)! But sadly the Red Wings lost 2-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins. It wasn't a great game, I don't know where the Red Wings were... so sad...Dang Penguins!

What a busy day!!!

What a day today was! Today was Christina's graduation from her morning preschool! So Roz, Bev, Hannah, Sofia and I all went to her graduation. Here she is in her cute dress before we left.

Here she is getting her diploma with her two teachers, I love these ladies, they were great teachers!

Then tonight Christina's AM preschool had a little performance where they sing a bunch of songs on stage for you. Here's Hannah, Sofia, and Caroline watching:

Connor, Uncle Bill, and Aunty Bev watching

All the kids on stage

A quote I really liked that was in the program, hope you can read it.

Christina smiling at me during the performance when I went closer to get a picture! The great part is that right after it started during a semi-quiet part when they weren't singing some of the kids yelled out a few things and I heard her calling to me and waving, it was cute to hear my name!

Being silly after the show:

Then after Christina's performance we headed straight over to the elementary school where Caroline had her Girl Scout's Bridging ceremony. Were she went from being a Brownie to being a Junior I think it is. Here are some pictures from that:

Christina was stealing everyone's shoes before the ceremony started...silly girl

Playing around in the gym afterwards
