Where's my friend?!

so p.s. I'm sitting here listening to music at 1:45am and my music isn't soft, I can hear it in the bathroom as I'm brushing my teeth...but it doesn't matter...no one can hear it...Jason's gone...it's sooooo sad! Here's my countdown until he returns 730 days... I probably shouldn't make a chain for that yet, you know the ones you make for christmas and you cut off a piece everyday 'til Christmas...maybe next year...

Anatomy=Yuck

So I have decided that school is hard, especially when you only start studying for a test the night before! So if you understand this:

call me! Except the fact that by the time you read this I'll probably be done with my test... too bad...
But I do want to say that I have an awesome brother. My brother Chris was studying at the MCC library tonight and he was leaving when he passed my dad's car (which I had driven) in the institute parking lot, so he called me to see where I was since it was after 10. Lo and Behold we had both been in the library just on different floors. Well we talked for a moment and then he got in his car and started home. Well a couple miles down the road he was impressed to return to MCC so he turned his car around and called me and told me to meet him in one of the study rooms of the library. He was soooo much help! The poor guy stayed up way later than his bed time to help his little sister... Thanks Chris! He helped a lot and tomorrow morning I'm going to go study too...school makes me tired!

Ode to Jason

Well my brother Jason left for his mission today! He's going to Portland, Oregon. He's going to be an awesome missionary! He and my parents are flying up to Salt Lake City this morning and then driving up to see my sister in Idaho before they drive down to Provo to drop him off at the Misssionary Training Center on Wednesday morning. I'll miss you Jason...

Blackbeard

Well my brother Josh is the play "Blackbeard" and my family and I went to go see it tonight (well technically last night because it's now early morning, but that's beside the point). And it was soooo great! The music was fantastic, but really what else would you expect from Rob Gardner (Joseph Smith the Prophet, He is Jesus Christ, 12 Princesses, etc) who wrote the music and lyrics for the play. The story was great and it all went together soooo well and of course I LOVED IT because it was a total chick play, very much a love story! It's playing all this month in Phoenix and I would suggest that anyone go see it, especially for a date if you want the girl to be putty in your hands afterwards! p.s. I don't mind seeing it again *wink*wink* haha jk...

Music changes!!!

Well I hope ya all like country music, because I finally changed my music on here!

Books...

So on Wednesday I lost two of my school books! Ahhhhhh! I had had a test in Psychology and finished it in good time so I thought that I might discover all that MCC has, which is more than I would have thought... But anyways I went to the cafeteria place and bought something to eat while I waited for my next class, then I went to another area and started watching a baseball game on tv...just wasting time, because heaven forbid I actually do homework in between classes! Well I get to my Anatomy class listen to my boring teacher drone on and on and then at the end of class when I was packing up my stuff I realized I didn't have my Psych or Anatomy book!!!!! Where could it be? I had been to several different places before I went to class! So I decided to skip Anatomy lab and go find my books. Well I walk outside and it is literally pouring cats and dogs outside...my luck I know! So I see that it's not going to stop anytime soon so I just start running in it, I ran for like a minute and when I got to the cafeteria I was SOAKED (on a side note, it's really conveniant that I wear crocs to school and it's been raining a lot lately, crocs=wet feet)! Well the place I had eaten was closed but the place I had watched tv wasn't so I looked around there and, yep you guessed it, nothing! Well I talked to a guy that was working there and he said that a janitor had found something and taken it to security so maybe it was my books, optimistically I called the security office and nothing. Well I started talking to a guy who worked in the office who was sooo nice and offered to call the security office in the morning and see if there was anything, so I gave him my name and number. He looked at my last name and asked who my parents where, ends up he's married to my aunt's sister. Small World. Well the next day after work I went to the security office and started talking to them, see if anyone had found them. Of course not! I was so frustrated because I knew that one of my books has my name and number in the very front so someone would for sure call if it was found and they were honest people, but nobody called. Well the security office decided I should just put in a claim that they had been stolen, so I went through all of that tedious stuff and was not very optimistic this time. Well the guy I talked to gave me his card and told me to call him the beginning of next week if I haven't heard from him, well this time I looked at his last name and well he's my uncle's cousin, he's been to my house before...the world is now getting smaller! Well after that I went over to the cafeteria knowing my books wouldn't be there because they would have for sure turned them in by now, it had almost been 24 hours since I'd lost them. Well I went in there and asked the same lady who had been there the night before if she had seen any books and she asked me what my name was, I told her and she said that she did have a book that had my name in the very front! Thank you for writing my name in books!!! She made me show her ID to verify the name but then gave me my books! Thank goodness! I got lucky this time, no more leaving my books places from now on!!! So now I can actually do my homework and study, ugh...

Long story I know...sorry...

Institute Opening Social

Well Friday night MCC had it's opening social. It was way fun! But I realized that I have the biggest problem with talking to boys! Don't get me wrong I talked to a lot of boys...but I already know them all! Does that count?! I guess I have just way too many guy friends because I don't feel like I need to get out of my bubble!
Well anyways I had so much fun talking to my friends and helping Brenda King (she's on Institute Council so she was way busy because she was in charge of the activity) with random things. Then she realized that she was supposed to be taking pictures and that she had totally forgot, so since she was busy I just took her camera and started taking tons of pictures! You can find them all on her facebook and I'll put a few on this post. It was fun though because I would just go up to a random group of people and ask if I could take there picture! Everyone thought I was crazy, which in a sense is true! Brady Weston was very nice to pose for a few shots also, haha he did a good job of entertaining me!
After the Institute Social Brenda, Jeff Brinton, Ted Sowards, Kirt McKay, and I were really thirsty (because they had run out of cups at the activity) so we went to walmart and bought orange juice and cookie dough, a very random combination I know! We stayed outside in the Parking Lot for a couple hours after that just talking, listening to music and passing the OJ around! I think of the three, Tropicana, Some Florida kind, and the Naked Orange Juice, I liked the Naked one better! We figured this is how mormons get together and drink... So the last picture is of some of us at Walmart, and yes we really did sit in those as we talked!

My phone!

Oh, almost forgot to tell you guys! I got a new phone a couple weeks ago! I love it! Here's what it looks like!

Back to School

So I've taken the last year off of school and let's just say I liked it... a lot! Not having homework agrees with me! Well I started classes on August 25th and it's...well...classes...what more could I say! I'm taking Intro to Sociology, Intro to Psychology, Intro to Communications, and Anatomy and Physiology. So far I've had two weeks of all the classes and I remember why I took a whole freakin' year off! But I'm sure it will get better! At least now I actually know what I want to go into, Dental Hygiene! Well I'm sure I'll keep you updated on how the semester goes, it's definitely something easy to complain about!

Britt's Visit!

(UGH!!! ANGER!!! I just had this all typed up and pictures on it and then my computer shut down my internet, I lost more than half of it!!! I'm sooooo tired, it's almost 1am!!!! ANGER!!!)

Ok so my favorite person ever FINALLY came and visited me last week! Brittany my old roommate from BYU-Idaho flew down from California to see me! It started out kind of crazy because right when I brought her home we were having a big family dinner and so all my neices and nephews are running around and everythings crazy and she got to meet everyone at once, a lot to take in, let me tell ya! Everyone was over because my little brother Jason had spoken in church earlier for his farewell talk, he's leaving on his mission Sept. 17 for Portland Oregan. Well she survived the family dinner, went to some get-togethers people were having for homecomings, and then we went to a game night. It was fun that she was able to meet a few of my friends at the game night. Then I feel so bad but on Monday I had work (I had to work Monday, but had gotten Tuesday and Wednesday off!) So she dropped me off for work and I gave her mapquest directions to Chandler Mall and the Mesa Temple where she has an old roommate serving a mission. Well let's just say she had some adventures! While I was fixing teeth, she was buying outfits, seeing old friends, getting lost twice and getting help from police officers both times...etc... by the time she came and picked me up from work she had a headache and was ready for me to drive (did I mention that Brittany is from a small town and that well I'm not!) But sadly her long day was not yet over, she had to drop me off at MCC for classes (she picked the worst week to come, the first week of school!). Since she didn't want to go to class with me or possibly get lost on the way home she took my directions to Fiesta Mall and spent a while there and then waited for me in the Institute parking lot...didn't she have fun? I felt soooo bad! But Tuesday and Wednesday were better! Tuesday we went to the Science Center and to Chase Field while we were in Phoenix. Then we went and saw the movie "House Bunny" which by the way is hilarious! Sadly after that though I had to go to class, she had learned now though and stayed home instead of going with me! Wednesday was a lazy day and we went and picked up my little sister from Mesa High and took her and my little brother out to lunch at Gecko Grill, then we bought a movie at Walmart and watched it, then, yep you guessed it I went to class... Brittany sadly left me on Thursday morning...and I don't know if I can go on without her...

Another funny one!

A new supermarket opened near our house. It has an automatic water mister to keep the produce fresh. Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of distant thunder and the smell of fresh rain.

When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and you experience the scent of fresh mown hay.
In the meat department there is the aroma of charcoal grilled steaks with onions.

When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cluck and cackle, and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying.

The bread department features the tantalizing smell of fresh baked bread & cookies.

I don't buy toilet paper there any more.

Thought this was funny!

Everyone concentrates on the problems we're having in this country lately --illegal immigration, hurricane recovery, alligators attacking people in Florida....

...not me -- I concentrate on solutions for the problems -- it's a win-win situation.Think about this:1. Cows 2. The Constitution 3 . The Ten Commandments

COWS Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the state of Washington? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.

THE CONSTITUTION They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq .... why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we're not using it anymore.

THE 10 COMMANDMENTS The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this -- you cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal' 'Thou ShaltNot Commit Adultery' and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians ... it creates a hostile work environment.

Idaho Trip

Ok, ok, I've been a total slacker on here, I know! I just haven't felt like telling stories, if ya know what I mean. So this post is really late, but here's some pictures of when I went to Idaho last month for my sister's open house!

The town of Weston, Idaho!

Becca thinks she's a cowgirl now that she married
a cowboy so she wore her boots under her dress

The open house was the weekend of the Famous Preston
Night's Rodeo and so we went two of the nights, my family
really liked dressing up cowboyish.

Here's me pretending to be a cowgirl when you can
tell that the only cowgirl thing is the hat that someone
gave me for the picture!

Ok this was the coolest thing about the trip, it's called Fluming. Basically it connects the irrigation canals and goes over the street. It was the best! It was like the lazy river but faster! The bottom was mossy and slick so you couldn't stop yourself! And I don't know if you can tell in this picture but there's metal things that those boards are laid on and you could grab on to those and then someone would grab your legs and you would try to make a long chain, it was so hard! So fun! We stayed there for hours!!!!
The current was so strong! Here's Josh trying not to be sucked away, but I'm sure he was sucked away because the bottom was so mossy and slick!

And here's how you got back! It was so scary because it's just boards and they would wobble and I always thought I was going to fall!!!
