Visiting the Intrepid

Connor's birthday is on Monday so today to celebrate I was invited to go with them to go see the Intrepid. It's a really cool Airplane carrier that has been made into a musuem with airplanes to see and a submarine on the side. Here are all the pictures!

Cool Airplanes huh?

this one looks like a mouse to me :)

Me and the birthday boy! For Connor's birthday I got him a Star Wars Yoda lunchbox, it had a can of rootbeer in it, stickers, toys, and candy. He would not put it down, he carried it throughout the whole museum even though we could have put it in my bag! He loved it! See if you can see it in some of the pictures!

Enjoying the view on our tour

Ahoy Captain Connor, where are we off to?
Ok so funny story, there were these airplane simulators inside that you could ride in. It was a ride and you were supposed to fly the airplane around and shoot the enemy airplanes. Well Connor and I did it together and for most of the time he was steering our plane and we were upside down most of the time, if we weren't upside down then we were turning round and round, I was laughing the entire time because it was just crazy letting that kid fly a plane!

This is a board that shows how many airplanes and boats the Intrpid shot down, all the red things are airplanes it destroyed and all of the ships you can see are the ships it either sunk or crippled.

Here's a model of the boat we were on

Caroline and I pretending to fly a plane!

After seeing all of that stuff we decided to tour the submarine

Roz and I

the tiny bathrooms they had
so a lady told us that there were 100 men on this submarine and they only got to shower 3 times a month! Add to that that the men could smoke down there and that must have been a yucky place to live!!!

Caroline trying to figure out which bunk would be hers! I call the top bunk!

Roz coming through the doorway!

The room where the torpedoes are loaded!

lookin' good Sailor Casey!

After touring everything at the Intrepid we went over to Times Square for dinner, but the wait was an hour and a half, so to kill time we went and walked around Toys R Us, the girls loved it, but of course there was someone dressed up like Iron Man so Connor had to freak out and Roz took him outside!

Two cute girls in Times Square!

The whole fam!

It was so fun spending the day with them! I sure do miss them!

Jason's coming home!

One week from today my younger brother Jason is being released from his mission for our church. He has faithfully served for the last two years in the Portland Oregan Mission. I missed him so much! I won't be able to see him when he comes home because I live in New York but I will definitely call him on skype as soon as I can!
Here I am at the Hospital when Jason was born!

Me and Jason with our baby sister Katie!

Elder Alston!!!

Can't wait for Jason to come home! So much has changed since he left! He has two neices, one nephew, and a sister-in-law who have joined the family while he's been gone! So many things have changed in just two years!

Fun with April!

Today Ariana and I went and played with our friend April! April is another nanny in my ward who only lives about 30 minutes away from us, Ariana and her old nanny used to play with April a lot so we decided we should go play with April too!
April has two dogs, one big one and one little one, Ariana is a big fan of Griffin the small one

April took us to a barn where they have a lot of horses, Ariana had fun feeding them treats and carrots.

Then we went back to April's house and collected the eggs in their chicken coop! Ariana told April all about eggs and how baby chickens are born, since we've been reading so much about it she knows soooo much!!

Um...what's that on the egg? Ewww...

Look what I found!

Then lucky us we got to jump on her trampoline!

and someone didn't want to get off!
THANK YOU APRIL!!! We had soooo much fun! We definitely need to do it again!

West Side Story

Today I went into New York City to meet with my friend Mallori and her cousin. Now how many of you can say that you've been in Manhattan on September 11th?

We wondered around a lot, but I met my new boyfriend and I think I'm in love :) Mom I know he's a little old, but he's really rich and has lot's of candy, can I keep him?

Then we went and saw "West Side Story", it was so good! Lot's of really good dancing and really good singing! I was sad though because the girl who played Maria was the understudy and her voice just wasn't as good as it could be! Other than that it was great!

We had so much fun! I can't wait to go play with those girls in the city again!

The Aquarium!

Today Ariana and I decided we wanted to go to the Aquarium and see all of the animals. What a fun day we had! Here are some pictures from our day!

We loved this huge turtle and kept following it around the tank

And then we had to see what Ariana would look like as a turtle... I think she'd definitely be a cute one!

Hey is that Dori from "Finding Nemo"?

We saw a cool actopus climbing across the glass of his aquarium.

Ariana got to pet crabs, star fish, and many other kinds of sea creatures. They even showed her some of the egg sacks that some of those animals have since she's so interested in eggs (see earlier post)

We even got to see a 3D movie because it caught her attention that it was about penguins (talked about in earlier post) She loved it!

Haha, look at the fish she caught! There is an area of the Aquarium where it has animals that are in the water locally and it has places where the kids can "fish" with magnets, well I LOVED this cute picture spot, showing off her catches!

Isn't she cute?

Here we are petting sting rays!
