Six Flags!!!

Today me and some of my friends from the ward went to Six Flags in New Jersey, it was sooo much fun! Here are some of the pictures!

Scraping Walls...oh the joys...

Here's a little of how I spent a little of my week! Syd had told the mom she works for that she would repaint her room, but in order to do that she had to scrape off the paint on two walls where it had started to crack. Well let's just say that it was a lot more work than she had bargained for. Well she slowly worked on it for about a month and then her employer gave her a deadline which was only like a few days away and that's where I come in! Sydney and I both know that if the text starts with "How much do you love me?" than we probably shouldn't write the person back, but we both owe each other for the big things we do that we have to text back! So basically I had a putty knife and was just chipping away at the paint forever! It was hard dirty work. But it was fun being with her and helping her out! I'd do it again if I had to!

SICK

So this is how I look/feel:

SICK!!!!!!

I've been here for almost 5 months now and I haven't gotten sick, the family has gotten sick a couple different times with the kids staying home with high fevers and me holding them for hours and being with them all day and amazingly I never got sick at all even though everyone else in the house would get it. I think Roz (the mom I work for) must think I'm super human because I would be with the kids all day when they stayed home and never have any symptoms, what can I say, I'm tough! Well a few nights ago that all changed when I randomly started blowing my nose...

and by today I just kind of feel like trash! I'm gonna go drink my tea now... my nose hurts, my ears hurt, my throat hurts...ugh...

P.S. if this is a real invention will someone please get me one?!

Haha I was reading that post to Connor and the whole time he was saying "EAT ME, EAT ME, EAT ME, EAT ME, EAT ME..." seriously he just kept saying over and over...haha I love it!

MOTHER'S DAY

Wow, Mother's Day is tiring! I was up late last night putting hearts up all around the downstairs that the kids had decorated yesterday and cleaning the kitchen a little bit so that I could arrange the table with a picture frame and flowers I had gotten for Roz. Then I was up at 6:30am and not too much later I was with the oldest making breakfast to take to her mom in bed. I even dipped strawberries in chocolate for her. Then we brought their mom breakfast in bed, gave her all of the presents they had made in class and then sang "I'm so glad when 'Mommy' comes home" (Daddy's Homecoming), "Mother, I love you" and "I often go walking", Rosalind had never heard them before so she loved it. But the best was that after that I went to my room because I wasn't really needed anymore so I'd thought I'd let them have family time... so I went in my room and I could hear everything. The 5 year old went downstairs and then she came back up saying something about hearts and saying over and over that her mommy needed to go downstairs, so finally she gets Roz to go downstairs and I could hear everything because Roz really liked the hearts and then when there were a lot in the family room, Kitchen, and hall she was amazed that there were soooo many (tell me about it! I put them all up!)

Then she went in the kitchen and saw the flowers I had gotten, Lilacs and Roses, I could hear that she liked it and that she loved the little frame by it...it made me happy that I had made her happy! Earlier in the week I had made Caroline ask her what her favorite flowers where and she had said lilacs, then she added that she also loved roses. Well I called the flower place and asked them if they had any arrangements with lilacs and she said she could make whatever I wanted, then she said she would even add roses if I wanted...SOUNDS PERFECT!

Then I started cleaning the kitchen and trying to prepare stuff for dinner and dessert that night. Sadly I didn't help as much with dinner as I wanted to, but only because I didn't really know how to make most of what she wanted! So I made a Strawberry Spinach Salad and cut up Strawberries and Rubarb for a Strawberry Rubarb pie that Rosalind later put together. We also had Steak and Mashed Potatoes, yummy!

Then later tonight I got to talk to my brother Jason whose on a mission in Portland, Oregon. He gets to call home on Mother's Day and Christmas and so my family calls a conference line because we're all spread out, so we all get to talk to him! I miss him soooo much! But he sounds great and sound like he's having a lot of amazing experiences!

Well now it's after midnight and I've been awake for 18 hours and I'm dead! I need my sleep because I have work tomorrow! I hate to say this but I'm glad Mother's Day is only once a year, course I won't be saying that when I'm the Mother and need the appreciation!!!

Well Roz took Connor to his T Ball pictures and game today so it was just me and the girls!!! But we had a few errands to do, so we put on our shades and went to the store!

We had to go to a store called Stew Leonard's and buy a bunch of stuff. This place was PACKED! I guess it's always a mess on Saturday's and it probably didn't help that it was the day before Mother's Day! Well we got really excited because we saw the cow there! Stew Leonard's is the largest Dairy Store, even ask Ripley's Believe it or not if you don't believe me! So they have a cow that walks around and plays with the kids. Well the funny thing is, is that their brother Connor is deathly afraid of this cow. He is sure that this cow is going to eat him if he gets anywhere near it! I've told Connor that Stew Leonard's feeds their cows well and that he wouldn't want to eat him, didn't help....we've told him that cows only eat grass, he didn't care...told him that it's a man in a costume who only wants to make kids happy, still didn't help! Haha well here's a picture of the girls with Clover Cow the famous scary cow from Stew's!

When we got back we showed Connor the picture and he just kept asking over and over to see it again and again! He asked me if Christina his younger sister had been scared when she saw him, but I told him she wasn't and that she hugged him in the picture, Connor was amazed and he just kept asking to see the picture and look at the cow!!! Even to get him to change into his pjs and brush his teeth I told him that we could look at the picture on my computer and it worked, he was very cooperative! What a silly kid!

Ummm...

So every so often Rosalind tells me I'm starting to sound like a mom...is that a good thing or a bad thing?! Here's an example! This morning I picked up Caroline's (9 year old) backpack which is HUGE and just started pulling books out of it. She had 8 different story books! I asked her why she had EIGHT BOOKS in her bag and she just kind of looked at me, smiled, and started putting most of them back in. I just looked at her and said, "Are you going to read all of those today?" It does kind of sound like a mom huh? And I'm sure my mother and I probably had the same exact conversation because of books!

ok, scared to death!

Ok so I've been doing some yard work for Rosalind lately because she does it herself so I figured I have a lot more time than she does so I might as well do it! So yesterday I mowed the lawns and wow did it take forever! We cannot let the grass get that tall again! It was awful! Well today I was working on a side yard that she has that borders a small street. Her neighbor who lives on that street had complained to her that it was looking really bad and asked her to clean it up, she admitted to me that she hadn't even seen it in a long time! So I told her that I would do it, no problem right? Oh my gosh! It's taking forever! I really don't mind doing it actually I listen to books on my i-pod as I do the yard work so I've listened to the "The Giver", "A Wrinkle in Time" and I just started "Harry Potter 7". So today I was using the Weed Eater (um I think that's only what my family calls it, most would call it a hedger?!) and all of the sudden there was a snake! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! I hate snakes more than almost anything!!! I seriously wanted to cry! Definitely didn't want to keep working that's for sure! Well I've been told that it was only a Garden Snake and that they're coming out of hibernation (THERE ARE MORE?!) and that it would go away...GO AWAY WHERE? I'M SO FREAKED THAT IF I LET IT SURVIVE IT WILL GO TO MY HOUSE! Well here's a picture of the snake, it's not small like I always pictured Garden Snakes to be...It was as thick as my thumb! Ahhh!!!

Well after the whole snake business I kept going cleaning up and got a lot done but sadly still have lots to do... ugh I've already spent 4 hours (two different days) on it! I had to stop because I had to get Christina from her bus and luckily I stopped because right after I picked her up from her bus it just started pouring! It was seriously raining cats and dogs all of the sudden... Now I need to take a shower because I'm a mess!

Happy!

So sometimes I'll just be sitting there thinking and I'll find myself smiling, not a small grin, but a SMILE, teeth and everything! It happens everywhere, at dinner with the family, out with my friends, at church, etc... and it doesn't have anything to do with what's going on at the moment!You know what I'm thinking of?! Possibly of Connor and the way he dances or how cute he is when is mouth is full....maybe of Christina and the way she tells me she loves me or when she calls me Jaimie cheesy... perhaps I'm thinking of Caroline and how beautiful it sounds when she sings "I am a Child of God" or how she makes some of her silly faces. Whatever it is I'm thinking of all I know right now is that life is great and I'm happy!
