Frost Ice Bar

After dinner we had reservations to go to the "Frost Ice Bar"

Frost Ice Bar is quite literally the coolest bar in Boston! It's always 21˚F and everything from the walls and bar, to the furniture and drink glasses are constructed of ice.  It was insane!

Before you go in they give you a huge jacket to wear and gloves, here I am in mine.  It was still cold, I guess I didn't have the alcohol to warm me up like everyone else did!

This ice chandelier looking thing was hanging from the ceiling

One of the walls

A giant ice swan

Laura was having a little too much fun ;) jk!

The cups were made out of ice too, which on the cool factor was really cool, but on the "my hands are going to fall off because they're so cold even with these gloves" factor, not so cool.

Definitely an awesome place to go to once, after that you're just someone who enjoys paying too much to torture yourself!  Now if they had a bar that stimulated the ocean breeze, the summer sun, and had Hawaiian surfers serving you then I'm ALL for that!!!

"One if by land, two if by sea"

This weekend my friend Laura came to visit me from New York.  I haven't seen her in forever so it was a ton of fun to get together and explore Boston together.

So I really know hardly anything about Boston, in fact here's what I know:
Freedom Trail
Boston Red Sox
Boston Marathon
…yep that's about it…
So we tried to do a little research so we could have fun in Boston and here are a few random stories and pictures from our adventures!

We started off the day in the North End of Boston, that place is sooooo full of Italian restaurants its INSANE!  So we of course picked an Italian Restaurant for lunch!  After lunch we bought tickets for an Improv show for that afternoon and then started walking the freedom trail.  We saw Paul Revere's home and the Old North Church and a few other things, but really Laura just wanted to get to Quincy Market.
When we got there there was a guy doing a show outside in front of a big crowd.  He had someone put him in a straight jacket, tie him up with rope, and then hang him upside down, and surprise, surprise he escaped!  Here's a picture of him hanging upside down before he got out of the straight jacket.

We walked around and there were a lot of cute things you could buy, but there's a "Cheer's" bar right off of Quincy Market and so they have a souvenir shop for the TV Show "Cheer's" and I loved this little baby onsie that you could buy!

Then they had this music toilet paper that I very seriously considered buying for my little sister… There's a real possibility that I'll go back for it...

After Quincy Market we went and saw our Improv Show and it really was very funny, I would definitely go see them again.  Then we were trying to figure out somewhere to go for dinner and we wanted the ultimate Boston experience, so we picked the oldest restaurant in Boston and the oldest restaurant in continuous service in the U.S the "Union Oyster House" it was established in 1826.  And let me tell you, they did not disappoint!  Look at the poor guy who had to die for me tonight!

New Nanny Position

For those of you who care... I accepted a temporary nanny position in Massachusetts, it’s about 40 mins outside of Boston.  I was looking for nanny positions in New York City and then thought to ask a friend who nannies in Boston about agencies there and all of the sudden the thought of being near Boston seemed like a whole new adventure to me.

Anyways, this stay at home mom cut her hand really badly and had to have surgery to repair it. She of course can’t use her hand which means she can’t drive because legally you have to be able to grip the steering wheel with both hands and she can’t do a lot of simple things around the house or for her three kids.  Hence the need for a nanny!

The job starts Monday and goes until the end of March for right now but she still doesn’t know when her hand will be better. It will definitely be a new adventure! I'm excited!  Here are a few pictures of the town I'm going to be living in (of course I'll be there in the winter so it's not quite the same!!!):

Baby Shower

This week I've been helping my friend Shannon prepare for her daughter's baby shower.  It's been a lot of loooong hours but let's face it, for Shannon I'd do just about anything!  Look at how cute everything turned out!!!

I think this banner is sooo cute!

I love the polka dots hanging from the ceiling

Isn't this cake adorable?!

These pom poms are NOT easy to make let me tell ya!  But they do look good!

Baby Jeopardy!

This game was great!  Each diaper had a melted candy bar in it and you were supposed to smell it and look at it to figure out what candy bar was in the diaper.  It was pretty funny watching people stick their faces into diapers to smell them!

The Baby Shower turned out great!  I'm so glad I got to help with it!

Baptism Day

Today my two oldest nephews were baptized!  What a wonderful day!  I'm so proud of these two handsome boys and of the wonderful choice they've made!  Both of these boys are such good examples for their siblings, they're kind, strive to make the right choices, and both think that their Aunt Jaimie is their favorite Aunt (right boys?!)!  I only wish I could have been there with them!  Love ya Christopher and John!!!

Christmas morning!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!  Look who came and woke me up this morning!

So every year my parents put up a sheet so we can't see what Santa gave us until we go into the room, this was funny because Matthew was pulling on the sheet and making it so he could see in and Kaitlynn was getting really mad because he wasn't allowed to look in!
Look at this cute boy, already learning how to tease his big sister!

Another family tradition is that the youngest gets to go in first so we always have to line up from youngest to oldest to go in.  Here's the clan that was at my parent's home this morning!

We always have someone wear a Santa hat and they hand out the presents to everyone so that there's some sort of order to things.  Then we get to see what everyone got!  This year I was Santa!
Ho Ho Ho!!!

Kaitlynn really likes Toy Story 3 and Woody and was sooooo happy when Santa got them for her!

Later in the afternoon all of my nieces and nephews came over and wow this place became a zoo!!!!

My brother-in-law got a bow for hunting for Christmas and my brother's where trying it out out in the backyard, I asked if I could try it out.  They didn't really think that I could do it and my brother-in-law did have to help me pull it back, but then I aimed and shot it myself and BAM right in the middle of the target!  All of my big brothers were so impressed!  It was awesome!

The cute newlyweds :)

My sister-in-law Jamie and her cute daughter Gracie

A book that will help Jason out greatly!

We had such a great Christmas!  It's so fun to have the kids around to have the excitement of Christmas and to have all of my siblings around to remind me that the true meaning of Christmas is Family, Love, and most of all about the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ!

Christmas Eve

I LOVE THIS LITTLE GIRL!
I have no clue what we're looking at in this picture, probably my iPad or something but I just love having this little girl in my arms!  I'm going to miss her when I'm back in CT!  Thank goodness for Skype!

Here we are all dressed in our nice clothes after singing at the temple and I guess Kyle didn't like me laying next to Katie so he laid on us and then Jason laid on him and then Kaitlynn was somehow placed on top of us but she didn't really like that... what a cozy little family we are... and sooo cute!

Every year on Christmas Eve we get Pajamas and this year several of us got Footie Pajamas!  They're pretty dang awesome!

Me and my Beautiful sisters in our footie pajamas!

Haha it must be hard to be so loved Kaitlynn!

Showing off our PJs!!  Now we've got to go to bed so that Santa will come!!!
